Book 1 includes works by Bartók, Berens, Beyer, Bolck, Diabelli, Duvernoy, Köhler, Gurlitt, Reinagle, Schytte, Türk, among many others.

• The pieces are in simple meters with an introduction to compound.

• Eighth notes and dotted quarter notes prominent.

• Compositions stay in the keys C, F, G, as well as A minor.

BOOK 2: LATE ELEMENTARY TO EARLY INTERMEDIATE
Book 2 includes works by J.C. Bach, Beethoven, Biehl, Burgmüller, Czerny, Diabelli, Gurlitt, Haydn, Hook, Mozart, Streabbog, among many others.

• New keys of D minor and D major

• Introduces inversions and the V7 in root position

• Rhythm includes triplets, sixteenths and dotted eighth to sixteenth. Cut time and compound meters are common.

• Broken chord accompaniments, alberti, singing in the RH, cross overs, grace nots, ledger lines

• Introduction to passage work and speed, voicing, incorporating scales

• Continued development of counterpoint and equal playing between both hands

BOOK 3: EARLY INTERMEDIATE

Book 3 includes works by Attwood, Beethoven, Biehl, Burgmüller, Clementi, Handel, Mozart, Schumann, and Spindler.

• More work on D major and minor. New keys of G minor, B flat major, E minor, and A major.

• More complex counterpoint preparing students
  for their first Bach preludes.

• First sonatinas by Attwood, Beethoven, Biehl, Latour, and Clementi

• Extensive work with dotted eighth to sixteenth rhythms and sixteenth note patterns

• First pieces with multiple voices.

• Etudes and character pieces with a more active LH, including broken octaves, arpeggio patterns, and scales.

BOOK 4: EARLY INTERMEDIATE TO INTERMEDIATE

Book 4 will include works by Bach, Burgmüller, Clementi, Ellmenreich, Gurlitt, Heller, Mozart, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, among many others.

• More work on D, A, and B Flat Major, and G minor. New keys of C minor, E flat major, B minor, and E major.

• First Bach Little Preludes and Anna Magdalena selections, as well as Mozart Minuets.

• Romantic character pieces selected to develop multiple voicing and artistry.

• More complex Rh-LH coordination.

• Etudes to prepare students for intermediate playing.
